That makes it completely justified. When a mob is actually physically attacking you, simply drawing the weapon isn’t the only thing justified. Firing off a few rounds directly in the direction of the attack is as well.

Note: I base the above on what the article actually said. If that is not what really happened, never mind.

Can you brandished a weapon in self defense? I know you can fire a gun in self defense when you are in fear of your life.

My understanding in some places you better shoot if you have a need to pull the weapon.
