OK, wait. Since when did you have to qualify for the Olympics? I guess I’ve been out of touch for a while. The Olympics, to me, stopped being about national pride when Carter boycotted in 1980. There was a slight reprieve in the Winter Olympics, but since then, meh.
Everyone going to the olympics have to qualify. Or did you think that countries just point at some guy and say, “You are the marathon runner....”
It hasn’t worked like that for more than 100 years.
Not sure if the Tokyo games will go on this year or not but if they do expect medal winners to kneel at medal ceremonies and other crap that will I predict kill whatever interest still remains. I pretty much stopped caring about the Olympics 10 to 20 years ago. I watched nothing of the last few games where as there was a time it was must see stuff.
