There are 300 billion stars in this galaxy, each of which likely has one planet; there are at least 100 trillion galaxies, each as large or larger than our own, every star of which has at least one planet. Question: how many planets are there in the currently known Universe?

Probably a smart missile performing test extremes no human could physically endure. Maybe it even has a reverse thrust ability to make the smart anti-missile missile unable to stay with it.

There is a more ‘elegant’ argument: the known processes supporting life / expressing life require information, require a code of operation which random chance can never produce with replication directions and correction of data as a characteristic randomly derived. Time-shifting is a stretch of the imagination but it’s still more logical than an entity traveling zillions of miles to get here and then do nothing at all - no mining, no landing on the WH lawn, no circling the moon, no group singalongs, just a few lights in the sky. We’ve had SETI since ‘84 - nothing. Our planet is lit up like a billboard. Nothing. And I don’t buy that space invaders would be patient enough to wait a few decades of ‘softening the idea’ to humans. They’re us.
