This is what I don’t understand. A thousand dollars in Mississippi would cover all your basic expenses (as long as you didn’t drink, smoke, or delight in luxury....or have a high-maintenance woman).
In SF, it might last you five days. Are these guys even comprehending the cost of living?
I did a zillow and craigslist search on apts and shares just to see. On the cheap side of the spectrum, a studio or room in a private home can be had for around $800-$1000/ a one bedroom miniapartment for about 1100-1500, split two ways isn’t bad. Don’t forget these folks have other income besides the free money. SF isn’t giving it to welfare or social security people - it’s going to cronies.
