The real problem is that the "for-profit" CDC owns the patent that the drug manufacturers need in order to do their thing. They don't want anyone stepping on their ability to cash in bigtime. That is why they claim to not have any samples for bonafide researchers to use to check on the virus.

Nice little racket they got going. Push down all the therapeutics that have been proven to work, while pushing up the need for a vaccine that is very questionable.
