You can go to your new destination and rent a truck there. Would be much cheaper. My co-worker son just did this from the San Francisco Cali area. He said his sons family saved $1500 to move to Oklahoma City.
I did the math on that-—I am trying to move from N Nevada to So Missouri.
Either way—Reno to Reno round trip or Springfield to Springfield round trip was more expensive than ONE WAY.
The round trip method has a mileage charge—the one way has UN LIMITED mileage.
The one way has a daily truck rental rate, also., I get 7 free days to go one way from Reno to Springfield area.
Add in drivers motels, food,and gasoline/diesel-— it isn’t cheaper.
MAYBE if it is a SHORT trip-—Los Angeles to Phoenix, OK.
