Dude was always supportive of the troops and USA. Played for them quite a few times if I recall. He is a loon though, and I know this because one of my guilty pleasures was watching his reality show. He seems like he’d be a good guy to meet, always cool with and appreciative of the fans.
And yes, I think the band sucks too.

He said something like “Well, say what you want about their music - but they put on a heck of a show - EVERY night. And they put a lot of work and effort into making sure each show was great. That was very instructional to us as a new band.”
