Sometime in the early 90s, don’t remember where, some skydiving instructor made his fifth or sixth jump of the day and forgot to put on his parachute. The news showed his helmet-cam footage all the way to the ground.
I enjoyed the movie “The Martian” (I know, Matt Damon being a leftist turd and all) but there was a scene in there I really like.
He is all set to leave the damaged base station and venture forth on his Mars overland journey...he turns to walk out the exit hatch, but pauses before he opens the hatch to the outside, and turns around to go pick up his helmet.
Made me laugh. I could see doing that...opening the door and dying of asphyxiation because I stupidly forgot to put on my helmet.
Saw that. The first few moments, anyway.
