No, our politicians are that incompetent.
I strongly suspect this was a test of the drones capabilities AND the capabilities of the ships sensors to detect and track the drones by defense contractors.
We don’t know that for sure, ufo peeps might throw their hands up in surrender if you just look at them cross-eyed.

Private wise asses don’t have drones capable of flying 100 miles out to sea, loitering for 90 minutes, and then flying back home.
My guess is these were launched from a sub in the area.

So the US Navy has 4 destroyers is out in the deep blue ocean and they cannot shoot down any of the 6 drones that harass them for 90 minutes?
