I think Mason owned slaves though.
Mason is actually a much better example than meets the eye, if a good storyteller could carry through with recall of the events.
The reason why I keep going back to storytelling is that we know the government schools don’t teach much useful knowledge.
That leaves us to be the teachers. Good teachers aren’t quoters, they tell the story. Or if they do quote, they quote after the story. A simple example is this:
Quote a movie line to someone who hasn’t seen the movie, and watch them struggle with it or not get the joke; etc. This is much worse with the Founders who have been propagandized to no end.
