Loved me some special services. When stationed in Philly, got $15 dollar Flyers cup tickets. Also paid only $20 in 89 to go on a six pack tuna/sailfish charter when our ship stopped in Aculpoco. Our carrier was too big for the port, so we anchored in the Bay. The charter came right up to the ship to a floating dock off the aft end near the fantail and picked us up. No sailfish, but we caught plenty of tuna and a good buzz. Gave the tuna to the mate and skipper of the charter, took one to my chief and my buddy and I got to eat in the Chief's mess that night. Whole nother world in that Chief mess.

Always thought it was funny that all the money spent on gedunk at the ships store helped fund Special Services.
