COVID-19 Vaccinations in the United States (22 Mar, as of 06:00 AM ET)
CDC | 22 Mar 2021 | CDC

(President Trump's Operation Warp Speed Update)

Total Vaccine Doses Delivered: 156,734,555 (4,253,900 J&J)

Administered: 126,509,736 (2,406,337 J&J)

People Vaccinated, At Least One Dose: 82,772,416

Fully Vaccinated: 44,910,946

TOPICS:
KEYWORDS: jj; moderna; pfizer
For the 24 hours since the prior report:

Doses Delivered: None (weekend effect) (No J&J - weekend)

Total Administered: 2 million (OK day) (107,000 J&J - low typical)

New People Receiving 1st Dose: 1.4 million (good, but slower than recently)

People Fully Vaccinated: 770,000 (low typical)

Good inventories on hand (30 million).

Just an OK day, for a weekend, with good weather.

Cases are levelling off around 50,000, after a steep decline from over 200,000 in January.

Daily deaths just dipped below 500 (479) for the first time since November 15th. They ran above 3,000/day through January and the first half of February.

If Deaths continue to decline more than cases, it could be an effect of the vaccines preferentially protecting the most vulnerable (which we would expect from a successful vaccination Program, and which we have seen in Israel).

% Total Population with at least a First Shot: 24.9%

Those ≥ 18 Years of Age (Adults): 32%

Those ≥ 65 Years of Age: 69.2% (over 35 million people)

I suppose it doesn’t matter too much but the numbers are a little confusing.

At least 1 dose would include a subset of “fully vaccinated” 2-dosers (except in the case of JNJ). Probably why the numbers don’t add up but if you add 1 dose+ and 2 dose you get a total that is about 1.15 million off from the stated number of total jabs. I am guessing this means that only about 42 million have received 1 jab, and 44 million received more than one jab (JNJ excluded).

“the numbers are a little confusing.”

I can’t really reconcile them exactly.

The J&J shots might count as both first and fully (1st and 2nd).

But there is even a difference between what they report as J&J administered (2,406,337) and J&J fully vaccinated (2,390,216). I would think they should be the same.

I guess there is some human/keystroke error in submitting reports.
