Is there anything to legends of places such as Area 51

I read some years back that people who worked in Area 51 were coming down with sicknesses doctors couldn't diagnose. When they asked the military there what their patients were exposed to, they were stonewalled. The Las Vegas Review Journal had a lot of stories on that.

Elsewhere, I read that the real secret of Area 51 was that the ground there was so polluted by toxic chemicals they were using for fuel, they hid everything so the EPA wouldn't go ballistic (no pun intended).

The toxic waste angle isn’t a story. That happened. Jonathan Turley worked on that case for years on behalf of several former airmen and (I believe) contractors that became sick from burning that material.

I don’t think there are any allegations the toxic waste was ‘not of this earth.’ Instead, it was just routine hazardous waste that should have been properly disposed of by people with training and the right equipment which none of these service members apparently had.

I heard that the material they use to cover the wings of the stealthy planes is part of the toxic problem.
