OH NO. Good luck with that. A few years ago, we got some letters saying we owed about $250,000. Took months to get it straightened out. And every time I would call the IRS to check on it, anyone I talked to identified herself as “Mrs. Knox”.
Thanks — right now you can’t get anyone on the phone, but I hope it works out before I have to file 2020. I’m pretty sure Mrs. Knox threw my return away... ;-)
$250K?! Holy cow. It’s stressful enough when you have an issue with the IRS, but if I got letters telling me I owed that much money I’d have a heart attack.
