Sounds like a lounge act at a Holiday Inn. Jeff Lynne was the 5th Beatle.
If you're not familiar with Postmodern Jukebox, that's exactly the vibe they go for -- the smokey jazz/hotel/piano bar club from yesteryear. They do it perfectly and I love it and the whole genre.
Postmodern Jukebox is actually only one person -- it's the piano player Scott Bradlee. He, in turn, hires a rotating collective of real, trained musicians to form whatever band session he's looking for. Morgan James, for example, is a classically Julliard trained opera singer.
Over the years, Bradlee has hired over 70 different performers for the sessions. Many American Idol contestants have sang for PMJ, as well as numerous Broadway performers like James. They primarily release performances through YouTube, and have accumulated over 1.4 billion views there.
I never get tired of seeing their releases and PMJ's showcase of real musical talent.
