I'll say a nice thing about Biden, he seems to like his dogs. My wife would agree that shepherds are the sweetest most loving breed. Not looking for arguments, but I don't disagree. But they need to be trained from day 1. Nice picture of Joe, but he needs to understand they're working dogs, and while he's enjoying a stroll they are working, protecting him. Like the secret service. He moves to protect, of course he does Joe, that's his job. My dogs walk several miles a day, are off leash trained, and whether in an urban environment or in the woods, are always on a lead. If the dogs return to the White House, I hope Jill will buy Joe a lead.
I used to be a German Shepard guy until I got my first Rottweiler. I had always heard nothing but negative about them, but learned they are loyal and loving. Had one on Pet Pals with Patty Spitler, he was always chosen for meet the breed. We had him at shows and kids would hang all over him, he would reciprocate with kisses and lay on his back to they could rub his belly.
However it doesn’t matter what breed of dog, you don’t just assume you can reach down and pet it. So the problem generally isn’t with the dog, it is with the person who doesn’t know and understand dogs.
