The tunnel runs alongside the Angiddy Brook [Western Power Distribution]
Terrific! Now the taxpayers don’t need to cover the cost of any further digging.
It looks pretty big to be so medieval.
Well constructed. They don’t make ‘em like they used to.
Becky! We’re saved!
At this point, what difference does it make, Tom? Where the hell are we anyway?
I got a feeling we ain’t in Missouri no more. Wonder if Aint Polly and Huck are still alive. I feel like I might be 190 years old.
Injun Joe sure was mighty tasty, way back then.
This would be a good one for ‘Time Team’ - miss that show
The 4ft (122cm) high tunnel

people were a lot smaller in those days of youre.
As my college history professor would say, “Vikings!” Church properties were favorite places to attack, since they conveniently sequestered a lot of the local gold and silver there.
I bet it's full of pedophiles and mole children and torture devices!
If they built these today then they would not last 100 years.
A guy contacted me years ago about looking for an old castle tunnel in France(?) iirc. The family heirloom shotgun had been passed down to him. He was taking it apart to have the stock redone and found inside the long tube inside the stock a rolled up treasure map!
It was some relative that lived in an old castle and had fled with the Germans came in. They escaped right before they came and had stashed guns, money, gold, etc. in the hidden tunnel.
I forget why the relative never made it back to the castle or why it didn’t stay in the family. It is now part of a national state property. I know he was trying to work with lawyers to let him on to the property to explore - but didn’t want to divulge why. He kept on getting refused.
“stopped all work to allow archaeological investigation”
The European version of a snow day, or year.
Huh.
Tunnel’s only 4 feet tall.
Ok then, I’m gonna do a science and call it.
It’s part of the underground highway for “the little people”.
