I come from a heavily military family. Today’s military isn’t what we tend to think of when we salute and support “our military”. They have been scrubbed mostly clean of patriotism, pro-Americanism and all-around good sense. They are not promoted on merit, but on political savvy and ability to us the “correct” language. High ranking officers are now those who are particularly good at that game, not who are worthy leaders. Remember, they came up through the Clinton, W, and 0bama administrations.
(I know there are exceptions - like my two sons. I’m talking generally.)
