IIRC the issue is that a vast number of Hasidic Jews are wanting to congregate there....per reports here on FR, the men don't work and attend religious school for decades and are on welfare etc....they have many children but are not necessarily married to their mother....

a big drain on the localities....

a/ Like many an orthodox Jew, I don’t approve of the kollel lifestyle where some orthodox men don’t work because they study full time as adults.

b/ That has nothing to do with being able to worship in one’s home.
