I saw this article about the coming emergence of the 17 year locust swarm!
Brood X emerges every 17 years and is the largest swarm.
We are within weeks of the emergence, depending on your location.
I’m not sure when they would emerge in DC…
BUT IT WILL BE BIBLICAL!
Adding to the Biblical nature, the emergence in 2021 falls about on Passover!

So locusts = cicadas? I always wondered, what with the “17 years” part.
I remember the last emergence of the cicadas. Not so much here in South Florida, but I visited in the Midwest during the height of it, and the noise from those suckers was quite unforgettably astounding in some neighborhoods. It was capable of drowning out everything else nearby!
