Elian, my liberal daughter haragues me about getting the vaccine every time she visits.
Rather than get into a heated argument, I get very manipulative and say things like:
“It’s a waste of resources. One of your friends can have my dose. I’m not going to be around next year anyway.”
“Why waste a shot on me? Nobody lives forever.”
“I don’t want it. It will only help to postpone my reunion in Heaven with your Dad.”
Then I see the tears in her eyes.
I will try that. I said, “Why bother to get vaccinated? You still have to wear a mask, can still get Covid, and can still infect someone else, even after you’re vaccinated. What does it get me?”
That’s when she yelled.
The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against his father, the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother, the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. Luke 12:53
For son disavows father,
Daughter rises up against her mother,
Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;
A person’s enemies are the people of his own household. Micah 7:6
And so it goes.
Then I see the tears in her eyes.
