“More about my great Grandfather’s parents. With genealogy, the questions never end.”
Neither does the number of great grandparents you have.
I had two parents, thus four grandparents. Next generation back, I had 8 great-grandparents, and so on.
It’s hard to keep track. My ancestry on mother’s side has been fairly well documented. Nearest I can tell, my direct lineage to my mother’s side of the family goes back to relatives on the continent in the 17th century.
Little, if any, documentation on my father’s side exists. I haven’t spent any money checking, but I looked at a couple of websites, and one kept teasing me with bits and pieces about the Miner family. I learned quite a bit for free.
In the 1960’s my aunt hired a genealogist to trace back the lineage of my mother’s side of my family tree. Apparently, I’m related somehow to US Grant. I don’t remember or never found out how exactly we’re related, but I certainly believe we were.
