An Oklahoma basketball announcer who was caught on a hot mic calling members of an all-girl high school team the N-word for kneeling during the national anthem is now blaming the outburst on his diabetes.
“I will state that I suffer Type 1 diabetes and during the game, my sugar was spiking,” the announcer, Matt Rowan, told TMZ Sports.
Rowan claimed, “it is not unusual when my sugar spikes that I become disoriented and often say things that are not appropriate as well as hurtful.”

It is true that sometimes with Diabetics, if their blood sugar gets out of whack they’ll start to act like they are drunk. Like, three sheets to the wind drunk.
My dad was a diabetic, he really never got like this. But I worked with a woman who did.
Note to self: If I’m stupid blame it on my diabetes.
My diabetes caused me to post this.
Yeah I had a boss that would say non-sensical stuff. It would actually sound okay but be seriously wrong.
But he would recognize it within a couple of minutes and announce he needed to go check his sugar. And then he would apologize later.
What difference does it make? He could blame it on an advanced case of leprosy. He’s going to get fired anyway.

Lame excuse. If the team was kneeling for the anthem they earned the N-word tag.
