Those who were peaceful will plead to misdemeanors after being threatened with felonies that carry years in jail. Some of those who broke through doors and windows, or battled police inside the building will probably not be so lucky. Examples must be made.
And they shouldn't even be charged with that. When those people showed up, the fences were open and capitol police were waving them in. If I was in the crowd, I wouldn't consider it trespassing. I would assume they had an area set up for the people to protest and the police were directing them to it.
