GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Just a day after Texas rolled back COVID-19 restrictions, including those mandating face coverings in public, a woman's arrest has emerged stemming from her refusal to wear a mask.

Body camera footage released by Galveston police shows officers confronting the woman inside a Bank of America branch on Central City Boulevard. Advertisement

The footage, taken on Thursday, begins with an officer being directed by a bank manager to the woman. The officer encounters the woman who expresses frustration over being told to wear a mask, invoking the state's lifted mandate.

However, the officer is heard reminding the woman that businesses can refuse service to anyone that does not comply with masking policies, which is something that Gov. Greg Abbott still allowed.

After the woman said she wants to take her money out from the bank, the officer tells her to go get a mask and come back to do so.

With the woman giving pushback, the officer says, "Ma'am, listen, we can do this the easy way or the hard way."

"What are you going to do? Arrest me?" she asks. "That's hilarious."

The confrontation escalates with the woman raising her voice at other bank customers, and that's when it becomes physical.

The woman is taken down to the ground and arrested.

You can watch the full encounter in the video player above.

Police identified the woman as 65-year-old Terry White, who was arrested on a charge of resisting arrest and criminal trespass. Officers added she sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

We did business with Wells Fargo for years. Our daughter worked for them. We put our stocks in a Wells Fargo broker. Hub asked him to transfer something or other into something or other place and he didn’t do it. Cost us money. We pulled out all our savings and stocks and went to our Credit Union. Whilst waiting for our checks to clear Wells Fargo charged us 30 bucks service charge on our checking since we were no longer big bucks customers. I called and pleaded I had no idea and they forgave the 30 bucks. I immediately went down and drew out the last bucks out of our account......I know 30 bucks ain’t much but it was the principle of it. I had a Dillards credit card for many years and recently found that Wells Fargo would be servicing payments I immediately canceled my Dillards card. BOA I heard was giving out names of their customers to someone......do you know what I’m talking about?....

I’ll be glad when they find the intestinal fortitude to not only BAN masks but tell the government to ESAD on having to live under the droolers executive orders!!!

I take zinc, D3, C, and A (part of multivitamins).

I am blood type O.

Last year early March (before the July mask mandate and late March work-from home ) a young guy came to work with a sore throat and stopped by my desk Thursday/Fri.

I was ok the weekend, and on Monday started feeling slightly short of breath/ hard to get over a yawn, and went to the urgent Care (my Dr had closed for the day) and he said I didn’t have a cold, flu, or strep, and there were no tests available for the wuhan virus (I’m in the outskirts of the DFW metroplex).

He gave me steroid pills and I was in bed the next 3 days, very tired and lost sense of smell.
No fever, cough, or body aches though.

When I came back to work that Friday, the place was a ghost town; I asked a colleague what was going on, and he said Dallas had declared an emergency.

Dunno if a mask would’ve helped, but I had probably had the wuhan virus; I’ve never gotten short breath/couldn’t yawn, or lost sense of smell.

I came down with something and went for a covid test. It was negative. I was puzzled because of all the vitamins I take. Turns out I got Mountain Cedar Fever which has all the symptoms of the flu and the wuhan. I was sick for about three weeks and lost my sense of smell. My immune system was still in great shape because of my vitamins, but the allergen threw me for a loop.
