Two legged or four legged coyotes? Both species are vicious.

Who does not carry a weapon of some sort, at any time there may be trouble?
Many people, but say good bye to those days. The biden/socialist/communist party will see that you obey or else!

we have spoken a few times on here..I am the dogman who might take a nap or two night hunting. Dogs will cuddle up next to me when they circle back and is so lazy uses the same dog names over and over again. We run and tree the normal southern game and then decoy coyotes with kemmer stock mountain curs and ladner yellow blackmouth curs and have one very small and very tough jagdterrier. In california in the old days ran star mountain plott lines and jagdterriers. We getting ready to have our first bear hunt in our state. Lots of bear here but not legal to hunt or tree. But stuff happens. Like in cal when we were bear hunting, sometimes a mountain lion would show up in a tree. Now days a bear snapping their teeth and in a spotlight, a strange sight and sound at night. Leash the dogs and move off no harm no foul. Except i might have fouled my pants in fear, being old and lightly armed.

I do believe that in Georgia, a coyote would have a fairly hard time becoming an ace by getting five bites without getting his lamp blowed out along the way.

Reading one of the article further, they talk about using the dogs to chase a coyote until they get worn down and then the hunter catches up and kills it.

Out in far NW Kansas, I know a farmer who hunts coyotes with greyhounds.

He had an old Toyota 4WD pick up truck where he placed a 6 dog kennel on the back bed where the dogs could look out thru their windows. He would drive the back roads in the late afternoons looking for coyotes and when he would see one out in the fields, he would pull a cord in his cab that would drop the sides of the kennels, releasing the dogs.

The dogs, being sight hunters, would take off after the coyote with the truck following across the fields as best as it could.

If the dogs caught up with the coyote, they would eventually grab it by its legs and try to rip it apart and the farmer would end the struggle with a sledge hammer........

He had one dog that was a hybrid. It was a mixture of Russian Wolfhound, (it was big) greyhound and wolf............

We went out one evening with him and when he let the dogs out, they just cruised down the road ahead of us at 35 MPH easily.............They ended up catching a badger......

Yes, I think we have chatted here before. You are my kind of guy! Beau is a HUGE bear hunter - got the biggest one in the state in 2016 at 480 lbs., dressed. His pelt hangs off of a beam in our Family Room; he is 8' tall from nose to tail.

I'll have to look up those dog breeds you posted. Here is our Maltese-coat Plott Hound, '3M Clarence's Bella Coola.' (He goes by, 'Coola.') :

I do the puppy raising and basic commands training and Beau takes it from there. My dogs would defend me to their last breath, though I hope to never have them prove it!

I agree with you but this is the Bay area specifically the East Bay. If you ever have to use a firearm in self defense its not in your best interest to call the authorities as you will be arrested your gun confiscated and will need a lawyer $$$$

We still have a LOT of that bear to eat! If you’ve never had bear, the meat is the color of beef, but the texture of pork. There’s no fat marbled into the meat (all the bear fat is in a layer above the muscle, kind of like me, LOL!)

Gotta cook it low and slow so it’s great in any dish that is braised, and we do a lot of it on the grill with a simple marinade. You’ve inspired me to pull some steaks out of the freezer for weekend grilling!

Also, I make some awesome bear ribs in my Instant Pot. ‘Sweet Baby Ray’s’ is my favorite BBQ sauce, though America’s Test Kitchen says to use Bullseye brand. ;)
