I hope you're right and I think you're right but I recall that rent control was held to be constitutional and rent control is only a slow motion attempt to transfer ownership, or at least elements of ownership, from owner of the property to tenant.
This proposal is but an aggressive version with the same objective.
Yeah. At least with rent control you get to get paid every month and the rate is set going in.
The idea that you can enter into a contract with someone and then, after the fact, The government can just swoop in and say that the other party doesn’t have to honor it, but you do, is beyond stupid. It’s nonsense. It’s downright soviet.
And I own no rental properties.
