NYC school recommends students stop using 'mom' or 'dad' and replace the terms with more 'inclusive language'

What ever happened to just being polite.

If I refer to a kid’s parent’s as “Mom and Dad”, they can simply correct me and say, “I have two moms or two dads, or I don’t have a Dad...”

And then I correct myself.

There is an “assumption of ill intent” these days. Give me a chance to screw up before people start yelling at me.

And if you are correcting someone, it does not have to be done with condescension(—you know...talking down to someone.)

Always looking for be offending must be a tiresome way to go through life.

I taught at this school for a year. It was almost 20 years ago, and I won’t even tell you what it cost to send your 2-year-old there. Very very famous rich people send their kids there.
