NYC school recommends students stop using 'mom' or 'dad' and replace the terms with more 'inclusive language'
A private school in Manhattan is encouraging students to stop using the words “mom,” “dad,” and “parents” and instead use more “inclusive language.”
“Families are formed and structured in many ways. At Grace Church School, we use inclusive language that reflects this diversity. It’s important to refrain from making assumptions about who kids live with, who cares for them, whether they sleep in the same place every night, whether they see their parents, etc.,” the guide from Grace Church School in NoHo says.
The Episcopal school recently sent a 12-page guide to students and staff recommending using the terms “grown-ups,” “folks,” “family,” or “guardians,” instead of terms “mom,” “dad,” and “parents.”
The guide also has recommendations concerning sexual orientation, gender, and race and how to ask questions in a more inclusive fashion.

What ever happened to just being polite.
If I refer to a kid’s parent’s as “Mom and Dad”, they can simply correct me and say, “I have two moms or two dads, or I don’t have a Dad...”
And then I correct myself.
There is an “assumption of ill intent” these days. Give me a chance to screw up before people start yelling at me.
And if you are correcting someone, it does not have to be done with condescension(—you know...talking down to someone.)
Always looking for be offending must be a tiresome way to go through life.
Thanks for posting this in chat. It’s total crap and that’s where total crap belongs.
The Left has a long-term master plan, and this is just one part. Once they break down the normal, accepted nuclear family, other norms will easily fall.
Apostate church
Mom and Dad are paying big bucks this school. About $60k for tuition and other fees.
“Antiracism” at the top of the page. Guessing their field trips include BLM protests.

I taught at this school for a year. It was almost 20 years ago, and I won’t even tell you what it cost to send your 2-year-old there. Very very famous rich people send their kids there.
