A fun night out with friends can quickly turn into a morning headache, and people usually turn to food for remedy. A recent survey says the average Californian spends almost $1,000 a year on hangover food.

According to Solutions-Recovery.com, the average California drinker spends $958 per year on hangover comfort food, compared to a national average of $947, which works out to $80 per month.

Take a look at the national results HERE.

Alaska scored highest in the survey, with the average Alaskan spending more than $3,024 a year on hangover comfort food. New Hampshire scored the lowest, with the average person spending $528 per year.

Common on weekends here in AZ, too. I just didn’t see it on the menu photo.

I like menudo, even if I don’t have a hangover.

WOW we moved to California and we were greatly disappointed we didn’t find ANY good Mexican or Tex Mex food. Then in 1988 we found PEPPERS over by the Santa Anita racetrack now, used to be around the corner. Oh so good.

The people working there, all the cooks, were Mexican, none of those guys spoke English. They had photos hanging above the cooking area showing what comes with #1, 2, 3, 4, etc. I preferred the #16. The 17 & 18 were great too. Their Margaritas were by far the best on earth. Actually had Tequila in them, don’t ever TRY to drink two of those things! Our youngest son had his birthday dinner there when he turned 5.

Well, so far as we can tell the Pandemic LockDown caused that place to close after many decades of fine food. We ate there last time we were in Calif. 2019. We had our fav waiter all those years, Juan.

When the nazis reopen California some day, what good food places will still exist????

RIP Peppers.

Rosas in Tucson #1
Mi Nidito in Tuscon #2

HAPPY to see they are both still open. The crispy Mexican taco at Rosas is GREAT. They also have one at La Paloma in Pomona! YUM!

I lived there many times. Didn’t find food to be cheap. Not expensive, but not cheap. Son still lives out there. Their property taxes are about 1/2 of what they are here in Austin.

another one that is great IF still open, CEVICHE there is fantastic.

They'd spend more, but booze is expensive, and taxes are so high.

"Why in hell is brains $3.99? Loco cabeza!

As you may have noticed from current events, brains have been in extremely short supply for the last year or so.

I don’t think I ever ate at Rosa’s. Haven’t been to Mi Nidito for years, because there were long lines every time I went by there.

We’re not going to restaurants much until the COVID silliness goes away, which might be never.

"Where’s the menudo?"

Growing up in SoCal, my dad would often make a HUGE pot of menudo with all the fixings on Saturday and Sunday mornings after a big party. I still love menudo but have never found any as good as my dad's.

When I got older and out carousing on my own, Tommy's Original Chili was my go-to after party place.

You know? as Americans we are a bit of an anomaly when it comes to food, the texture of tripe grosses us out.

Most cultures love textures, and we eat everything in America but like it all ground into an unrecognizable snausage or McNugget

Arizona has opened up on a state level, but there are still lots of local and county-level restrictions, including Pima County.

However, I went to Lowe’s and Walmart yesterday and saw a number of people shopping without masks. Most of the time for the last few months I’ve been the only one.

I never really understood the Old Testament, the Tora, the Koran... the dietary laws

God loves breakfast, scattered 3 ways with pig!

Regardless, I will go get fish dinner today cuz I like Haddock and perogies and slaw.
