Meghan Markle's former TV father is not impressed with the bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey that aired on Sunday. The actor, who played Robert Zane on Suits, slammed the interview as being "insensitive" due to it being carried out during the ongoing pandemic.
"Today, 3,000 people are going to die in America from Covid. A couple of hundred people are going to die, even this hour, in the U.K.," he told LBC Radio.
"It was quite insensitive and offensive that we are all complicit in this sort of palace gossip in the midst of so much death. I think it is insignificant."
He quoted a line from Macbeth with "full of sound and fury signifying nothing," before reiterating that he was criticizing "everyone" involved...
Pierce later took to Twitter when outlets reported his words as an "attack."
"I just discovered my words are being used as an attack. Well done, British Press. Clarity: The British monarchy is archaic in my American eyes. If slavery, colonialism and apartheid didn't educate you that they are racist, you failed history," he wrote on the social media platform.
"I was fortunate to tell Meghan personally I wish her all the best. Predicting this hellacious maelstrom, I also told her she would always have a friend in me. Because I had no interest in the interview doesn't change that."

Wendell Pierce is a fine actor, with a specialty in roles that convey dignity and authority.
I’ve been told! He definitely has a gravitas that sets him apart. We may be seeing him in more films down the line.
You never see any pics of ARCHIE, if he has her nose and his
fathers red hair he would be cute.
Nobody says anything about Tiger Woods being Asian and Black.
I grew up in New York City where the UN brought people from
the 4 corners of the earth. I got to eat all kinds of food
and mingle with all kinds of folks.
I especially liked Irish, Italians and Brits.
I saw Meghan doing Yoga, boy she has a great body. Very
flexible and fit.
“full of sound and fury signifying nothing,” pretty much defines all of TV and movies, doesn’t it? I mean, that is the point of entertainment, after all - a distraction from every day life. Sports falls into the same category.
... from the movie "Sleepers".
I liked The Expanse. I could not get my head around Season 4 of Mr. Robot and thought the pacing was off compared to the first 3 seasons, so I quit it. Never watched those other shows but I know of them.
Well I think they sort of “make it up as they go along” because generally they only get 1 season renewal at a time. Only a few excellent shows or people with a long history of success get a chance to think through and pitch 5 seasons (though I don’t think there is ever a deal to make 5 seasons all upfront; always depends on the success of the show).
I am beyond sick of that self absorbed spoiled gold digging no talent b*tch!!
They’re going to have to “age him up” for that role.
A quickie history of Brit racism over the centuries:
“If slavery, colonialism and apartheid didn’t educate you that they are racist, you failed history”. he wrote on the social media platform.
Jack Ryan (TV series) - Wikipediaen.wikipedia.org › wiki › Jack_Ryan_(TV_series)
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, or simply Jack Ryan, is an American political action thriller television ... In April 2018, Amazon renewed the series for its second season which ... John Krasinski as Dr. Jack Ryan, a Marine veteran and financial analyst ... Wendell Pierce as James Greer, Ryan’s boss.
Wendell is a good actor, however, in that show he was too overweight to be a top CIA Field Spook.
Yep, he was.
What an idiot.
First, to condemn as racist people who were not even alive during the days of slavery, colonialism, and apartheid simply because they had ancestors who were alive back then is outrageous. You're a racist because of what you believe, not because of what your ancestors believe.
Second, this guy apparently doesn't understand where the power lies in the British government. It is Parliament, not the Royal Family, who had control over those policies. And Parliament didn't even have control over apartheid at all -- apartheid was instituted by the South African government only years after Britain had granted independence.
But hey, he's only calling white people racist, so they probably deserve it anyway. Right?
I really enjoyed him on this.
agree
Long before the UN, New York was the world’s leading sea port and port of entry for immigrants. Freedom of commerce and faith and democratic norms provided the basis for peaceful exchange and assimilation.
Mr Robot spoiler at the end of Season 4: The show is not about what you think it’s about.
