Biotin is available at Walmart. It is a common B vitamin.

It might be better to get a B complex from any store. However, due to issues some have folic acid building up and with converting normal B vitamins into active forms in the body, a B complex with active forms of B vitamins is a better B complex choice, despite the higher cost of active B vitamin forms.

Consider Jarrow’s “B Right” or Douglas Laboratories “B Complex,” which have the active forms of multiple B vitamins with normal biotin. If someone is low in biotin, they are probably low in other B vitamins, which, aside from the folic acid form of folate, cannot build up in our bodies for much longer than a day (the folic acid form of folate can build up for weeks if having too much).

Interesting.

What foods does it occur naturally in?

interesting. thanks. much of the interest of late has been on the b3 and its variants. I like your advice to get the b complex vitamin and your suggestion as to the brands that do the best job. On thing that was not clear to me from the article was the dosage. Is there advantage to taking more than whatever is the recommended dose? (the recommended dose would come with the multivitamins.) Do you get more protection with higher dosages? How do you read that?

I would aim to get something meeting 100% of the US RDA to whatever the Upper Tolerable Limit for each B vitamin might be.

For B vitamins, there may not be an Upper Tolerable Limit determined, as most people with normal kidney function excrete them.

So if you find a massive amount, take the next smaller dose or cut the pill in half.

Egg yolks are the greatest source, it seems, but peanut butter and other beans/pea-type veggies have biotin.

Each body’s need for a B vitamin may vary. The US RDA is the minimum one needs to not get a serious chronic disease—not the optimal amount needed for your body’s actual benefit.

Someone needs to inform President Biotin!

don't doubt that Joe Biden is receiving the very best, cutting edge treatments to stave off dementia and the effects of old-age. That just points out how far gone he must really be. We are only seeing brief appearances where he is at the absolute best he can be - propped up by all these "treatments".

Massive amount being defined as enough to give you deep yellow urine?

LOL! Yes, some B vitamins can do that.

Active forms of B vitamins could be less likely to do so, along with identifying the dosage that minimizes such output. If your body can’t use it, why pee it out and waste it?

Actually, consider the Jarrow B Right supplement, if looking at a B complex. It has lower higher doses of Bs.
