Cradlepoint AER series routers are serious kit. Not cheap, but highly effective.

Doesn’t stop the data mining.

People should know that modern cell phones have GPS modules that are used with the map programs and also collect your position data to sell to advertisers (and can also be collected by law enforcement). These GPS modules are generally accurate to about one meter (about three feet). If a GPS satellite in view has been placed into maintenance mode it could reduce accuracy to 3 meters or so (not much reduction). Each GPS satellite is in view only 15-20 minutes due to their orbital movement so accuracy reduction is only temporary.

Your movement data allows determination of where you live and where you work for most people. Your phone is tracked where it goes and how long it is there. This data was used in the January 6 Capitol incursion and for anyone who was nearby.

I rarely take my cell phone with me for this reason. You can put your phone in a Faraday bag or wrap it with a few wraps of aluminum foil. You can call your cell phone from another phone and if your location gives full bars of signal strength and your phone rings inside the shielding then the shielding is not working sufficiently.
