I’d like to see a “Gone to Soon” concert including Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, Steve Goodman, John Prine, John Denver, Glen Campbell and as a special guest, a fellow who I had followed to too many bars a long, long time ago (and he passed away too young as well), Holly Garber. All I can say is that if you had ever had the pleasure to see that young fellow play and sing, you’d understand.
And if that can’t be arranged, a good Waylon and Willie concert would be nice. Maybe with special guest, Johnny Cash?....
As an uncool person, I’m not into rock, so most of the artists listed here aren’t of interest to me. I did see some great suggestions when I saw that some of the big bands were listed, and I would very much have enjoyed experiencing them in person. But one look at my profile page and anyone can figure out whose live performances I ache to see. You’re the only one who has mentioned him so far. Respect, sir/ma’am.
Saw Croce, Chapin and Denver and they were all great. A woman really wanted to see Denver in Phoenix in the 1970s and it was totally sold out. I took her and talked our way inside by saying we left our tickets at home. We had to move around the whole night but we got to see a great show. She was a commercial pilot before joining AF. Too early to be a pilot in the AF. They sent her to AF Academy to help with first class of females. After retirement became a commercial pilot flying cargo. Got a strain of extremely fast and deadly cancer and was gone in just a few months.
