For the second time in about three weeks, residents from across San Diego County reported feeling a mysterious shaking — or in some cases hearing a loud boom — late in the afternoon Wednesday.
The United States Geological Survey reported no seismic activity in the area, but around 4:55 p.m., people from at least as far north as Rancho Bernardo, as far south as Chula Vista and as far east as El Cajon reported feeling the shaking.
Wednesday’s mystery event was similar to one that occurred a little after 5 p.m. on Feb. 16. Both incidents were mostly reported by residents in South and East counties and along the Interstate 8 corridor.
An employee of an assisted living facility in Minnesota has been charged with sexually assaulting an 83-year-old Alzheimer’s patient, an attack that was witnessed remotely by the victim’s son, who had set up webcams in his mother’s room so that he could monitor her well-being.
Investigators allege that Olabamidele Bewaji, 52, raped the victim Monday evening in the woman’s room at the The Pillars of Mankato in Mankato, a city about 80 miles from Minneapolis.
Bewaji, seen at right, has been charged with a pair of felonies for allegedly having sexual contact with a “mentally impaired, mentally incapacitated or physically helpless” individual.
