>>My negative experience was PROTESTANT. I went to bed praying last night because I seemed to have begun yet another anti-Catholic slide. It was not my intention.<<
Your experience is your experience. Having a label of Protestant\Catholic etc.. is incidental. There seems to be something “off” when it comes to the Scouts\Band Camp\Clergy etc.. but the bad\sick behavior is the same.
What is somewhat shocking\sad is, the mask of internet anonymity seems to bring out stories that may have never been told by a lot of people otherwise.
Sadly, it’s that cognitive dissonance thing again IMHO. When we tell people IRL, very few believe us. No one wants truth to rock their image of the world.
Thank you for kind words. I have felt very bad about starting the slide. You are right about the groups. My brother had an experience he does not wish shared at a boy scout camp. It isn’t just church.
Great laser thinking going on with you, here, writing:
“Your experience is your experience. Having a label of
Protestant/Catholic etc., is incidental. There seems to be something “off” when it comes to the Scouts/Band Camp/Clergy etc., but the bad /sick behavior is the same.”

I for one appreciate the distinction you make to separate the miscreants everywhere and their brutal deeds, from whatever their particular religious identification, or from their associations and organization, under which they acted and also betrayed.
