then you just pop out into normal or a cold area a brief period of time, then go back in

I always loved going into a steam bath, and getting completely as hot for as long as I could get, then run outside and jump in the pool!
The sensation when I did that was...that I was immersed in a viscous liquid like honey or molasses, and it felt grandly odd.
