I don’t think it was Portillo running as a Republican that brought the feds in. I think it was more Portillo making accusations against a sheriff and using the internet (phone) to do it. I think internet crimes are federal because the internet ‘crosses’ state lines. (I might be wrong) but if a republican candidate stoops this low, we don’t need them in our party.
