Top one reminds me of CCCP for some reason.
Soldiers are required to wear ribbons for any awards/medals they receive on their dress uniforms. Not to wear a ribbon is to be considered to be ‘out of uniform.’
“Serious question. If a soldier earns a ribbon or award, are they required to wear it on their uniform when they wear other ribbons?”
I’ve seen a lot of guys who wear only their top three awards, except on more ceremonial or formal occasions.
“When you see the rows and rows and rows and rows of ribbons that make these people look like generals from a third world country ...”
General Bull Wright(sp?), “Stand at ease, America; light ‘em if you got ‘em.”
(from the TV program, “Laugh-in”)
Napoleon said it best, “A soldier will fight long and hard for a bit of colored ribbon.”
you mean like take fortified positions....things like that??
They can call it an award but it’s a mark of shame. It should be a Communist red background with a bright yellow banana in front of it because it’s the first ribbon awarded in defense of the New Banana Republic.
... and freezing to death. On the plus side, if they survived, Jill Biden brought them cookies!
What are ‘they’ getting? ... A bonus check.
LOL, I did 8 years on active duty, and received 2 awards: Army Commendation Medal and Meritorious Service Medal, which I never had a chance to wear, because I left the Army a few weeks after I received it.
I'm surprised they aren't handing out Bronze Stars.
