Federico Guillermo Klein, a former State Department staff assistant who was arrested Thursday for his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection, has reportedly complained that he won't be able to sleep in prison.
Klein appeared for his first virtual court hearing Friday before U.S. Magistrate Zia M. Faruqui in Washington, D.C., where he was informed that prosecutors would be looking to put him in jail following next week's hearing, The Washington Post reports.
In response to the news, Klein, who held a top-secret clearance until he resigned the day before President Biden's inauguration, requested that he receive better sleeping conditions.
"I wonder if there’s a place where I can stay in detention where I don’t have cockroaches crawling over me while I attempt to sleep. ... I mean, I really haven’t slept all that much, your honor," Klein said at the end of the hearing, according to the Post.
He added, "It would be nice if I could sleep in a place where there were not cockroaches everywhere."

In America the presumption of innocence was a sacred right built into the Constitution, and no punishment could be rendered until a jury of peers voted in majority. In Weimerica punishment begins upon angering a member of the elite.
If he had only broken out a few windows and set something on fire in Portland, none of this would be happening.

Yep. Breaking into the capitol while they are holding the final EC vote was not the wisest thing to do. What were people thinking they would accomplish?
That said, this no-leniency situation is absurd, especially given the nine months of brazen lawlessness all over the country and the fact that all the violent antifas that ruined DC during Trump’s inauguration had all of their charges dropped.
Well, the two gals have been given some leniency in the charges as they are misdemeanors currently
I suspect most of these cases will be dropped or reduced to something even more benign but, now I won’t talk to them.

The Trump people were escorted in as far as I can see. It was the antifa people that broke in.
It was clearly Antifa communists that broke into the Capitol in order to steal sensitive information while blaming it on Trump supporters.

Been there, done that/ False arrest when I was a reporter. Judge refused to hear the case and prosecutor refused to present it. “Free at last, oh Lord, free at last” (two hours).
