By no coincidence, India banned the mRNA vaccines due to safety concerns. If existing medicine can cheaply treat Coronavirus, why use experimental vaccines which haven't been proved safe long term? Vaccines have some element of risk to them. If the benefit isn't greater than the risk, then it doesn't make sense.
