The NFL’s ratings are coming back despite the declarations from conservatives they would never watch pro football again. Likely the Murdochs believe the same will happen with Fox News which has already returned to the #1 cable news channel position in the ratings. Just as McCarthy, McConnell and other GOPe politicians expect conservatives to return to automatically voting for Republicans in 2022.

They take us for granted because of our consistent behavior in the past regardless of the lip service and outright treachery. Like an abused spouse, conservatives always return to the fold and support the Republican Party and its media outlet Fox News. We voted for the two Bushes, McCain, and Romney even though deep down we knew they had other agendas. We continue to vote for the Lindsey Grahams, Mitch McConnells, Marco Rubio’s, John Cornyns and our squishy GOP representatives in Congress (witness the 2020 election).
I’ll believe “we’re never coming back” when I see the 2022 election results and the cable TV ratings during that campaign. Until then, call me skeptical. Meanwhile, Paul Ryan laughs as he cashes his checks from the Murdochs for his cushy board position.

They are fooling themselves. Everyone in my family have left Fox for good. And I have a large family.
