I turned off my TV the day Fox hired Whorealdo in 2001 and with very few exceptions have not turned it on since.

I didn’t know they got rid of Lou Dobbs. I haven’t watched the TV news in a long time. I watch Gunsmoke and Perry Mason and old movies. I can’t take the news. I already know we’re screwed. I’m just waiting for the clarion call to arms.
I finally bought a 4K 55” internet ready tv last month.
The first streaming service we signed up was for OAN. Xfinity already had Newsmax on cable. However, now we watch Newsmax streaming instead most of the time. I need to buy a new router so that I can cut the cable tv cord next.
I admit I still watch Tucker, Hannity, Greg Gutfeld and Fox & Friends occasionally.

Too many of this site want to drum everyone out who has ever bucked Donald Trump. Fox News screwed up badly on election night. Yes, Chris Wallace and a few others are annoying as all get out. But clearly Fox is the best by a long ways among traditional news centers. I am watching. I will watch.
I am good with DJT bashing Mitch McConnell, Karl Rove and others, each of whom has earned his rebukes and generally/ objectively screwed up. But the Trump wing of the GOP cannot put all of its eggs in the Trump basket (partly out of interest in Donald Trump’s own well being), nor is there any need to do so. There is also DeSantis, Pompeo, Noem and several other nearly ideal candidates for President and another half-dozen lesser but perfectly adequate options. Donald Trump will stun over the next 18 months and then 3 years in terms of building an effective and winning farm system below these folks to add to the Jim Jordans and Devin Nunes ranks.
Still though ... he will want to co-opt as much of the GOPe as he can, including Fox News, while going after moderate Dems and minorities who cannot abide the lawlessness of their communities or the derision that the left shows to working-class households. I imagine that President Trump aspires to landslide victories in 2022 and 2024, won in substantial part by stealing the GOPe base out from under the GOPe. He’ll pummel the likes of Mitch McConnell in 2021 Q1 but soon pivot toward making Mitch his b*tch.
Politics at this level is rough and Donald Trump is a master. He’s going to want to punish those who have been disloyal and errant and thereafter bring them back into the fold. He knows this. McConnell knows this. Others playing at these high stakes levels all know this.
Fox News will be an important media channel in this effort. Donald Trump is too smart to throw that piece away, especially as he’s being cut off everywhere else. He’ll bash the network but go on Hannity and Bartiromo a lot, just for example, and once in a while on Ingraham. Murdoch is right in asserting that Fox ratings will go through the roof even if Trump engages the talking heads at the same time he’s bashing the network itself.
What Fox did on election night can only be considered a sin. The clearest individual sin was calling Arizona and then having heir “expert” tell viewers they had data showing Biden had wan by several sigma statistically, that it wasn’t even close. That was clearly a lie and the “expert” and entire staff should be clearly identified and never be trusted again.
A sin requires repentance, which in one approach is described as having four steps.
Recognition. Fox as an institution must recognize and admit what they did was wrong. Every individual host or news person needs to publicly and clearly announce that what Fox did was wrong and if they were in on it by repeating the lies personally announce what they did as part of the big steal.
Regret. Fox and each individual that is to continue employment with Fox needs to sincerely regret the sins of election night. Not just that they lost ratings, but actual remorse for the pain they have caused. This will be impossible for many at Fox.
Resolve. This is the step they are trying to suggest they are taking, substantially skipping the first two. Fox must commit, by cleaning house as needed, to not repeating the sin. Won’t matter the opportunity, they must commit resources to ensuring objectivity and fairness n the future.
Repair. They must do all they can to repair the damage done. Hire true investigative reporters. Commit substantial resources to investigating the election night incidents to find what truly happened. What happened in the county areas when the windows were blocked? What happened in Atlanta? We’re Pennsylvania military absentee ballots truly 100% for Biden? Did a mysterious truck deliver boxes of ballots? All these and many more stories are out there. The Trump legal team has the sworn affidavits, follow up on them. We are being gaslighted by the mainstream media. Whether or not the legal cases go forward, journalists should investigate and report on these stories.
If Fox is serious, this is the only way back.
