That's a highly misleading meme. It certainly seems to imply that the "space hurricane" came through a week ago. In fact, it was 7 years ago. The "hurricane" came through, and it took 7 years to realize it. That maybe is an important scientific discovery, but it was hardly a serious "storm".

Took 28 posts for someone to notice that.

These scientists were looking through old pictures and noticed this major occurrence so of course NBC reports it breathlessly.
