It’s bad if you have a positive outlook on life...

Solar minimum is removing plasma protection of the Earth. This could erald a global cooling because this plasma rain tends to cause ion fabricating clouds to form. Floods in China are an indication.

“Raining” electrons are insignificant- blocked by practically nothing.

The tornado/hurricane structure is interesting though.

"Scientists said last week they observed a previously unknown phenomenon — a 620-mile-wide swirling mass of plasma that roiled for hours in Earth's upper atmosphere, raining electrons instead of water. The researchers labeled the disturbance a space hurricane"

That's a highly misleading meme. It certainly seems to imply that the "space hurricane" came through a week ago. In fact, it was 7 years ago. The "hurricane" came through, and it took 7 years to realize it. That maybe is an important scientific discovery, but it was hardly a serious "storm".

Took 28 posts for someone to notice that.

These scientists were looking through old pictures and noticed this major occurrence so of course NBC reports it breathlessly.
