BOSTON (AP) — Six Dr. Seuss books — including “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street” and “If I Ran the Zoo” — will stop being published because of racist and insensitive imagery, the business that preserves and protects the author’s legacy said Tuesday.
“These books portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong,” Dr. Seuss Enterprises told The Associated Press in a statement that coincided with the late author and illustrator’s birthday.
“Ceasing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan to ensure Dr. Seuss Enterprises’ catalog represents and supports all communities and families,” it said.

I read every Dr.Seuss book to my grandson at least a dozen times each.
Yep. Off the deep end long ago, probably.

The real reason as always is $$$$. The union wanted its own branding for recruiting and wanted to get out of a contract. How do you do that without looking greedy? Make it about race!
OK, lefties, especially white lefties, must believe that blacks, Hispanics, Asians, etc. are the biggest pu$$ies in the world and that we’d be butthurt over every little thing, including an animated children’s book. Who is the condescending racist here?
Yes he was a Lib. I suspect that he approved of his Alma Mater (Dartmouth—source of Green Eggs and Ham) changing their mascot from the Indians to the “Big Green” (prompting the jeering counter cheer “Big Green What?” at the other Ivies, which was kind of funny as a Cornell student.
I can’t stand the Lorax. The dude knows nothing about western forest management, but neither do many people east of the Rockies. Nor do most of the people west of the Rockies who live in cities, which, alas, constitutes a voting majority in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and Arizona.
Still Libs used to be saner than they are now.
There is a thread right now on the topic of Twitch and “womxn’s history month” that is funny, and the link is hysterical.
(Hysterical was a subconscious choice but a fitting one).
