When I was in high school in Florida, many pickup trucks parked at school had a gun rack with guns in the back window.
I took a shotgun to school for a demonstration speech on gun cleaning in 1983. Kept it in the principals office. Got an A I believe.
Same here when I arrived in AZ in 1965. I believe there were 85% of pick-up trucks with gun racks. Today (2021) not a single gun rack to be seen in Maricopa county (Phx)
