“So small-state female conservative governors aren’t to be considered as candidates for president or veep? Even if, like Noem, they also spent 8 years in Congress?”
Don’t forget the most important experience sorely lacking in DC, successful businesswoman since age 22.
Good point. DeSantis (in comparison, as it seems to be his supporters with the knives out for Noem) has ONLY WORKED FOR THE GOVERNMENT!
Conservatives have traditionally believed being a successful businessperson is a very important trait when choosing a leader. At the same time there are mountains of evidence that being successful in business means absolutely nothing of the sort. Mark Cuban, Michael Bloomberg, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Mitt Romney, I could go on and on.
I have long since abandoned the idea that being successful in business is somehow an indication of overall intelligence or wisdom in any way shape or form. In fact these things have little to do with each other. One can be well below average intelligence and possess little worldly knowledge yet still be a wildly successful businessperson.
So I would submit being a successful business women should not even be considered relevant.
Oh don’t forget Oprah Winfrey, Micheal Zuckerberg....
Really. She has business experience in the running of the family farm. She has legislative experience from her time as a Congress(wo)man. And, she has Executive experience, now, as a Governor of a state. I'm pretty sure she can handle the POTUS position. A lot better than Obama.
