Here in the OBX NC, infection rates are down considerably, business are hurting. Gov. Cooper has eased some restrictions, however younger folks need to take some responsibility with social distancing. Health Dept. seems to think that contact spread is causing the infection rate.
People from their late teens to 60’s with few or no comorbidities have higher than a 99% survival rate. “Social distancing” was designed to keep people emotionally separated from each other, rather than a safe distance.
The communists want us to accept their new normal. They must be opposed at all times.

Nonsense. Younger folks are just not getting infected to any degree. Older folks need to maintain a degree of caution and it is they who should social distance.
Let the herd immunity continue and open up completely. Old folks like myself need to take special precautions and if they choose get the vaccine.

The wife and I just got back from a round-robin trip from Charlotte over to the coast and down. Got as far up as Buxton for the lighthouse and then down to Myrtle Beach. Ate several meals at Jason’s restaurant in Ocracoke. Masked up to enter; took off as soon as we sat down. Same story at all of the restaurants down the coast. We spent probably less than one tenth of one percent masked during the entire trip...state ferry rides and all. Generally, a beautiful week.
We are very much looking forward to vacationing at the OBX again this year, as we have off and on for many years. As native North Carolinians, we take a lot of pride in our beautiful State, from the mountains to the coasts. It’s disgusting what the forced lock downs have done to businesses here, but also in other States.
We’ve also been trying to support as many local businesses as we can through this thing. We’ll be glad to support businesses that are open when we get there.
