Here the businesses that should know better, i.e. healthcare, are the most stringent about masks. Can go into Walmart, local grocery stores, pharmacies and not wear them and get no push back. Given the percentage of older people living here in Fla. they are the ones more stringent about wearing masks then anyone else. My brother in law is a district manager for a convenience store chain and even though the stores have signs saying masks “required” he tells the employees if people aren’t wearing them to leave them alone.

I are an old people in Florida. My buddy just turned 80.He and his wife have been holed up in their house in the Villages for a year.
He does not have a clue what will happen to them when they take their masks off go to publix the 7/11 out or to eat out when this is supposedly over.
THeir immune system is zero. They are prime candidates for “anything”. They have self destructed and don’t even know it.

I noticed the employees pushing back against masks here, before the customers did in any great number. Many would wear them way down below their mouths when working and talking amongst themselves, and put them up only when a “masked person” came near. I made the point of pulling mine down and smiling at them when I approached.

Since last March, I haven’t been inside any health places, with the exception of one time in the fall, when I made a failed attempt to visit someone in the hospital (who had already had her quota of visitors for the day).

A couple of the wisest elderly women in our church congregation have never asked us to wear masks, or worn them themselves, when we’ve visited them in their homes. They don’t plan on getting the vaccine, either. One, in her late 80s, recently had to get tested for Covid, because her daughter had tested positive after spending some time in her home. She was also found positive - for the next 4 tests, and was stuck at home alone until she finally tested negative twice. Neither she nor her daughter ever had any symptoms. She joked with us, “imagine all the new ‘cases’ they got to add to the list, between the two of us!” These ladies all see through the BS perfectly well - and they’re not even online! :) The church still asks us to wear masks, but I completely ignore that.

We have one older friend, though, who has sadly bought into all the hype and then some, thanks to her adult children. She got the vaccines as soon as she could. I think if she were to ever get a positive test, even with no symptoms, she would die from sheer fright. So sad.
